HOSTEL RULES AND REGULATION:

The college has one Girls’ and one Boys’ hostel. Seats are allotted at the time of admission on the basis merit. The students seeking hostel accommodation have to fill up a separate hostel admission form, which shall have to be submitted to the Principal within allotted time. The number of seats in the girls’ hostel is 150 and the number of seats in boys’ hostel is 96.

The admission and the staying in the hostel is governed by the North Lakhimpur College hostel rules mentioned below:

  1. The boarders must maintain decent, dignified disciplined hostel life inside and out side the hostel and obey the hostel rules.

  2. They must abide by the rules and regulations of hostel as may be prescribed to them by the college authority, violation of which will lead to strict disciplinary action amounting to expulsion of the guilty inmates from the hostel leading to consequent expulsion from the college also.

  3. All the boarders must abide by the mess-rules prescribed by the mess-committee of the hostel.

  4. Boarders are not allowed to arrange any private messing within the hostel nor they are permitted to take meals outside the hostel.

  5. Damage caused to hostel property by any boarder is dealt with severe punishment leading even to the expulsion from the hostel as well as from the college.

  6. Expulsion from the hostel will cause expulsion from the college also.

GIRLS’ HOSTEL NO -1

The seat capacity of this hostel is 120. The selection of boarder is made purely on merit basis. The boarders of this hostel are from both Degree and Higher Secondary section and of both Arts and Science streams. The hostel campus has two buildings- one is Assam type and other is R.C.C. building. There is one library cum common room for the boarders and there are more than 500 books. The boarders can enjoy their free time by watching T.V., playing badminton and caroms. They use the library regularly. Two daily newspapers are supplied to the hostel by the hostel authority. Different functions like Fresher’s Social, Picnic, New Year Day, Tithi of Sankaradeva, Janmastami, Holi, Farewell etc. are organized by the boarders regularly. Five employees are there to conduct different works like cooking, cleaning etc. Among them one is night- swakider.  Hostel superintendent is staying in front of the hostel. Now Dr. Bornali Borah, Asst. Professor in the Dept. of Philosophy is serving as hostel superintendent. A calm atmosphere is there in the Girls’ Hostel. Study hour is strictly maintained in the hostel and regular visit is done by the superintendent.
