Boys Hostel

New Boys’ Hostel , the boys’ residence of the college is an integral part of North Lakhimpur College. Originally the college used to have its boys’ hostel  in the campus of present P.G.T. college of North Lakhimpur near District Library. However, it was shifted to the present site within the college campus in 1966. Since the building meant for the boys’ hostel was newly constructed, so it is named as the “New Boys’ Hostel”. Presently the hostel has two blocks, old block and new block, having well accommodated dining hall, clean sanitary systems and pure drinking water facilities. The hostel is located in the south western  part of the college campus. It is surrounded by a clean and green atmosphere having sports and library facilities, which is a house of rules and regulations and a home away from home.

            The new girls’ hostel of North Lakhimpur College built years back is also an important part of the college which at present accommodates 80 girls. It consists of two blocks, old block and new block with 10 and 12 rooms respectively along with a dining hall. Hostel has running water supply system. There is a library equipped with more than 400 books. Two newspapers “The Assam Tribune” and “Pratidin” and two magazines “Prantik” and “Nandini” are also provided from the hostel fund for the benefit of the borders. Moreover hostel has been provided with a television and a telephone set having incoming facility for the entertainment and communication. Two wall magazines are published in every year in the Girls’ hostel.

            Girls’ Hostel celebrates, freshman social, parting social, Janmastami, Independence Day, Republic Day, Swarswati Puja, holy in every year. One souvenir named ‘Nostalgia’ is published from this year.

The rules and regulations of the hostel are maintained strictly under the supervision of superintendent. The hostel maintains the visiting hours from 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday and from 2 pm to 4pm on Wednesday in winter. In the summer the visiting hour on Sunday is from 8 am to 6 pm and on Wednesday from 3 pm to 6 pm. The marketing day is on Tuesday and Friday from 1:30 pm to 4 pm in winter and in summer it is on the same day but time is from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. The reading hour is from 5 :30pm to 8 pm. Hostel has two monitress one for each block.
